Deep South Brewing Co sits in North Hobart on 220 Argyle Street, just a 15 minute walk from Hobart’s CBD and close to the North Hobart restaurant strip. Inside you will find a roomy warehouse style bar with concrete floors, exposed brick, and a high corrugated iron ceiling. There is a downstairs area with glimpses of the brewery at the back, a pool table and a private dining room, and an upstairs mezzanine dining area that is moody and warm, lit with festoon lighting and set up to accommodate both small groups and larger gatherings.

All beer served is brewed on site, with a 12 hectolitre brewhouse at the back. The core beer range includes items like a session draught, a crisp XPA, a pale ale and an IPA, often named after islands off southern Tasmania’s coast. They also rotate seasonal and experimental brews under special names. The food menu leans into wood fired pizzas with chewy crusts, as well as share plates, mains and sides, catering for a variety of dietary needs. There is also a good selection of wines and spirits behind the bar.
